Purpose

The camp is designed to enrich literacy, mathematics and technology skills along with fun and engaging STEM activities, to decrease the ‘summer slide’ experience or the regression of skills during the summer months away from the classroom. 

Summer Camp Activities

Student participants engage in reading activities that build reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, and word recognition; mathematics activities will assist in the development of critical thinking skills to solve problems with basic math skills, fractions, decimals, geometry, and data analysis with graphs. Additionally, students will gain exposure to science, technology, engineering, & math (STEM) activities such as design challenges, science lab activities, and rocket design. Participants will also experience in field trips and engaging activities that will enhance their knowledge and disposition in preparation for the next school year.
